Recent progress in the design of G-quadruplex–based electrochemical aptasensors

چکیده

Aptamer-based electrochemical sensors are now developed for the detection of a wide variety analytes including ions, low-molecular-weight molecules, proteins, and living cells. An aptamer-based sensor is an analytical device whose bio-sensing element (i.e. aptamer) immobilized on transducer surface. Aptasensors have attracted great attention because their high selectivity, sensitivity, stability; they could be miniaturized low production cost offer extraordinary flexibility in design assemblies. This review will emphasize recent developments aptasensors using aptamers that able to adopt particular G-quadruplex (G4) conformations, which secondary DNA structures formed from guanine-rich sequences. Indeed, G4 exhibits notable recognition properties inherent structuration.

Electrochemical Immunosensors and Aptasensors

Since the first electrochemical biosensor for glucose detection, pioneered in 1962 by Clark and Lyons [1], research and application in the field has grown at an impressive rate and we are still witnessing a continuing evolution of research on this topic [2]. According to the definition recommended by IUPAC some years later [3], a biosensor is a self-contained device that is capable of providing...

Guanine Quadruplex Electrochemical Aptasensors

Abstract: Guanine-rich nucleic acids are able to self-assemble into G-quadruplex four-stranded secondary structures, which are found at the level of telomeric regions of chromosomes, oncogene promoter sequences and other biologically-relevant regions of the genome. Due to their extraordinary stiffness and biological role, G-quadruples become relevant in areas ranging from structural biology to ...
